Dubai International Airport to reach record high of 9,520 million passengers in 2025

Dubai International Airport (DXB) announced on February 11 that its annual passenger numbers for 2025 will reach 95.2 million, a 3.1% increase from the previous year. This marks the highest number of international passengers ever recorded at a single airport. In addition to increased tourism demand, the airport's importance as a transit hub has grown even more, resulting in a record-breaking year with annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily passenger numbers all reaching new highs.

By month, December saw a record high of 8.7 million passengers (up 6.1% from the same month last year). Passenger numbers in the fourth quarter (October to December) also reached 25.1 million. The number of takeoffs and landings for the year was approximately 454,800 (up 3.3% from the same month last year), and the average number of passengers per flight remained high at 214.

Although DXB is operating close to its physical capacity, disciplined planning by the oneDXB public-private partnership has enabled it to maintain world-class service quality. Baggage handling volume reached a record high of approximately 8,675 million pieces, yet the loss or misdelivery rate was just 0.25%. Passport processing wait times for departure passengers were kept to less than 10 minutes for over 99% of passengers.

By country, India led the way with 1,190 million visitors, followed by Saudi Arabia (750 million) and the UK (630 million). Other countries that saw a rapid increase in visitors were China (up 16.6%) and Egypt (up 14.3%).
