UAE President's visit to Japan postponed due to worsening Middle East situation

Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara Minoru announced at a press conference on February 3 that the visit of United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed, which was scheduled for February 8-10, has been postponed. This is believed to be due to the escalating situation in Iran.
At a cabinet meeting in December last year, the Japanese government decided to invite President Mohammed to Japan as a state guest, with plans in place for him to meet with the Emperor, receive a state banquet at the Imperial Palace, and meet with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
The Japanese and UAE governments plan to reschedule the meeting.
