The Japanese government dispatches former Prime Minister Ishiba to the UAE as a special envoy of Prime Minister Takaichi.

The Japanese government has dispatched former Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who is also the chairman of the Japan-UAE Parliamentary Friendship League, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a special envoy for Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

On January 15, former Prime Minister Ishiba paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed and handed over a letter from Prime Minister Takaichi. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two countries and the advancement of cooperation that contributes to common interests, and confirmed the importance of the role that parliamentary diplomacy plays in promoting cooperative relations, deepening dialogue, and fostering common values.

The Japanese government plans to invite President Mohammed to Japan as a state guest from February 8th to 10th, where he will hold summit meetings and other events.
