Japan and UAE agree to strengthen energy cooperation

On January 13, Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akimasa Akazawa at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi and exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides confirmed the possibility of further developing existing cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure, and discussed exploring new areas of cooperation that would contribute to the sustainable development goals of both countries.

The two sides reaffirmed the importance of the strategic partnership between the UAE and Japan, and agreed that, in light of the international structural changes surrounding the energy sector, it is necessary to deepen cooperation centered on technological advancement and innovation.
